This is Gunjan Sarmah a 14-year old courageous girl from Assam.
Gunjan Sarmah volunteered to be kidnapped in order to save the lives of 10 other kids from their School bus at Simaluguri in Sivasagar district of Assam on Wednesday. According to Times of India a man with a Gun initaially hijacked a school Bus of Nazira Kendriya Vidyalaya. He threatened the driver, showing presence of mind the driver of the school bus ensured that the bus could not move further by running it into a drain. Left with no choice the kidnapper decided to take one of the child and chose a small girl. The Child was scared and stated crying. Seeing this Gunjan volunteered and said to leave the child and to kidnap her instead. She made it clear that all others were safe, leaving herself at the danger end. Kidnapper immediately took Gunjam and ran into the forest.
The Kidnapper took her into the dense forest and they walked inside the forest, crossed a river and atlast when it was dark they stopped at a place. She dint eat any thing that night. In the morning when she woke up, she was not able to see the Gunned Kidnapper. She immideatly ran from there. Finally she managed to escape the dense forests on Assam-Nagaland border where she was abandoned by the kidnapper and reached a house located in the tea garden where people listened to her and helped her informing the police. Her struggle for survival lasted for 14 long hours.
Gunjan is really a brave heart, she was not able to see a small child being kidnapped.
